2Plus6 WilsonFAMILY BandMARRIAGE…THEN CHILD EDUCATION. Once upon a time…in a land far, far away (Seattle), church choir members and vocalists, Jack and Jackie Wilson met, fell in love and were married. A gifted vocalist, actress and musician, Jackie continues performing to this day (often with Jack on music venues although by comparison he is more a “hobby vocalist & piano player” not in her league!). Somehow they ended up with six biologic children (ALL BOYS, except for the five girls…). And it was expensive. Jackie stayed home with the children. Jack worked two jobs and shared teaching responsibilities (math, writing, science). They homeschooled all six through 9th grade and relied on various homeschool cooperatives. Jackie handled reading, literature, history and humanities.

MUSIC TRAINING EXPANDS. They also emphasized vocals and musical instrument training. As each child grew, only one could NOT carry a tune and so her instructor encouraged violin to ‘voice train her.’ It worked. (She’s now published three CDs with original music and lyrics…and her voice…Hmmm). Anyway, all of them grew in talent and so they formed a family band, “2Plus6 WilsonFAMILY” and performed around the Northwest in Christmas festivals, state fairs, schools, weddings, funerals, retirement centers, nursing homes, church and special events. Their wide ranging eclectic portfolio included Americana, classical, jazz, rock, gospel, Israeli, Irish Aire, Caribbean, African spiritual, bluegrass, and, of course, Christmas tunes where it all began. At church, Jack and Jackie assisted and taught Sunday School youth, teens and adults, including parenting courses, college finance, and, yes, “Making Music In The Home.”

COSTLY COLLEGE APPROACHES. As college drew near, Jack decided to help his first two kids win scholarships using business fund raising and persuasion techniques. That worked well as they each raised roughly $100,000 to go to college “virtually free.” GoToCollegeFree!, now 12 years old, was born out of this real life experience. As you read his business and fund raising background in the Our Team section on this website, you can see why people are saying great things about GoToCollegeFree! programs.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW?  So what happened and where are they all now? If interested, CLICK HERE to find out!
