Dr. Jack Wilson — Founder, Facilitator and Main Speaker
Born and raised in the Seattle area, Dr. Wilson earned his bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from the University of Washington in 1976 and Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Utah in 1979. He self-financed both degrees.
Dr. Wilson was a pharmacy practitioner, hospital pharmacy administrator and college educator over a 17 year period before founding a medical device company around his patented inventions in 1990. As CEO and product developer, Dr. Wilson launched several businesses in the last 20 years and raised tens of millions of dollars through a mix of federal grants, industry investors, business-to-business partnerships, venture backers and regional investment bank sources.
In recent years, he learned about college scholarships and grants as his first two of six home-schooled and public high school children reached college age. He then applied his business experience and knowledge of fundraising and grant writing to college scholarships and grants. He has taught the subject in Northwest communities since Y2001 to young people of all backgrounds in high school and in college. Using methods he now teaches in Go To College Free! Seminars and Workshops, his first and second daughters won over $200,000 combined.
Scholarships, character and academics are tightly linked. His wife, Jacqueline, claims, “This is actually a spiritual-character development program for youth that doubles as a high caliber scholarship training course.” Character and self-discipline principles are explored and emphasized throughout the program in a friendly, matter-of-fact, and inoffensive way—and with lots of humor.
Dr. Wilson is presently involved in two more start ups, again in the high tech medical industry—and will rely on private funding and federal grants in early stages. Married 37 years, Jack and Jacqueline have six public & home schooled children of their own (ages 24 to 35)—plus 5 grandchildren! In their home school, he taught his children math, science and writing.
